Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Design Consultant to work with in-store clients to assess their needs, provide recommendations, and assist them with solutions that will accomplish their objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of fabric types, window measurements, and design concepts. The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, basic math proficiency, and a collaborative mindset to ensure seamless coordination and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients in selecting appropriate fabrics and materials based on their needs and design preferences.
• Accurately measure windows, furniture, and other project dimensions to ensure precise execution.
• Provide detailed project notes and specifications to upholsterers, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and high-quality project completion.
• Utilize basic math skills to calculate measurements, fabric yardage, and pricing estimates.
• Maintain an organized workflow, tracking project progress and addressing any client concerns.
• Serve as the main point of contact between upholsterers and clients, ensuring clear communication and project alignment.
• Offer creative input and design recommendations to enhance client satisfaction and project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
• Understanding of different fabric types, patterns, and upholstery techniques.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients.
• Previous experience as a Shop-at-Home Consultant preferred.
• Problem-solving mindset with a creative approach to design challenges.
