Title: Director of Technology Architecture

Location: Chicago, IL (4 days onsite weekly)

Salary: $160,000 – $180,000 / Annually + Bonus

Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt

The Director of Technology Architecture, owns the integration architecture across multiple enterprise systems, including CRM, CLM, ERP and proprietary platforms. You'll design and implement modern integration patterns; APIs, event streaming, and microservices, ensuring real-time data flow for critical business operations. Leading a team while staying hands-on with solution architecture, you'll establish API standards, implement event-driven architectures, and orchestrate seamless workflows across Product, Operations, and Data Engineering teams. As the technical authority for vendor integrations, you'll build a scalable, observable integration platform on AWS that delivers reliable, performant data synchronization across our technology ecosystem.

What You’ll Do

  • Build and mentor a high-performing integration team, fostering technical excellence while maintaining hands-on involvement in complex integration challenges and architectural decisions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders and product managers to map end-to-end processes, identifying integration points that unlock operational efficiency and enable new product capabilities.
  • Implement monitoring and observability frameworks with the Infrastructure Engineering and IT Operations team to proactively identify integration issues, optimize performance, and ensure SLA compliance across all connected systems.
  • Lead technical discovery and proof-of-concept initiatives for new platforms and tools, evaluating build-vs-buy decisions and recommending integration strategies that balance speed with sustainability.
  • Accountable for the future integration roadmap, prioritization, and execution—coordinating releases across multiple teams while minimizing business disruption and maintaining system stability.

What You’ll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in system integration and enterprise architecture with expertise in API design, event-driven architectures, and modern integration patterns on the AWS cloud platform.
  • Deep expertise in modern integration technologies, including event streaming platforms, API-as-a-product strategies, real-time data interoperability, low-code integration pipelines, and AI-driven integration automation.
  • Experience in wealth management, financial services, or fintech organizations with an understanding of financial data flows, regulatory requirements, and industry-standard platforms.
  • Proven leadership and exceptional communication skills, extensive experience managing technical teams and translating complex integration concepts for both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose integration issues across distributed systems coupled with expertise in integration methodologies, monitoring practices, and vendor management.
