Job Summary
We are looking for someone with love and patience for dogs to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and grooming in order to providing exceptional service to our clients and their pets. As a grooming assistant, you will support our shop in delivering high-quality grooming services while ensuring the safety and comfort of all animals in our care. The shop is open Monday through Saturday so please be available to work during those days.

Schedule

We will do our best to give you set days but we will ask for some flexibility at times. Currently the main schedule needs will be Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 7:50am to usually 3 to 4pm as you will get to leave once every dog is finished and the shop has been cleaned.

Pay

Pay range will be based on prior experience, however, you will also receive a share of tips on top of your hourly wage

Duties

• Assist groomers with bathing and drying of dogs to maintain their hygiene and appearance.
• Handle animals safely using proper animal restraint techniques to ensure a stress-free experience for both the pet and the groomer.
• Maintain cleanliness in the grooming area, including washing grooming tools and equipment, and keeping workspaces organized.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals during grooming sessions, reporting any concerns to the groomer or management.
• Support the team with heavy lifting of larger pets or equipment when required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in animal care or pet grooming is preferred but not mandatory.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed (up to 50 pounds).
• Please note that passion for working with dogs is going to be required as you will be doing your best to make them feel comfortable for what is usually one of a dog's least favorite activities
• Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work well in a team-oriented environment.
