Position Summary:

The Environmental Manager's key responsibilities include developing and monitoring environmental strategies that promote sustainable development. They also oversee waste management strategies, water and air quality management, and control of chemical substances. They must also coordinate with various departments to implement environmental policies and practices and lead audits and environmental impact assessments to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

In addition, Environmental Managers are tasked with leading the training and development of staff on environmental matters and emergency procedures and keeping abreast of relevant changes in environmental legislation and initiatives. They must also prepare and present detailed reports on the company's environmental performance to senior management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Developing and implementing environmental strategies and action plans that ensure corporate sustainable development.
  • Taking the lead on sustainable procurement for all goods and services.
  • Coordinating all aspects of pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy.
  • Leading the implementation of environmental policies and practices and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.
  • Assessing, analyzing and collating environmental performance data and reporting information to internal staff, clients and regulatory bodies.
  • Confirming that materials, ingredients, and so forth are ethically sourced and manageable.
  • Managing environmental strategy budgets.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
  • Practical experience in environmental management within the Energy industry, which may include internships or previous job roles, is critical.
  • PE preferred
