Position Overview We are a top Custom Home Building firm based in Charlottesville seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing project plans and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates, manage budgets, and ensure projects are completed on schedule. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders including architects, subcontractors, and suppliers to deliver successful construction projects.
Key Responsibilities - Review and analyze architectural drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to gather information on project requirements.
- Utilize estimating software to create and maintain accurate estimates.
- Conduct procurement processes to obtain necessary materials and services at competitive prices.
- Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations throughout the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an estimator in residential construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of residential building systems and construction methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
