Job Title: Forklift Mechanic

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced forklift mechanic to join our team for a rotating day, mid and night shift. The role requires proficiency in performing preventative and reactive maintenance on site. Issues mostly include - battery connectors, prevent codes, switch issues, wheel barring issues.

Equipment on site: crown units, stock pickers, reach trucks, unit pallet jacks (electric 85% and propane) Pay is about $30-32 depending on experience!

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on MHE units.
• Conduct reactive maintenance to address mechanical issues as they arise.
• Troubleshoot and repair battery connectors, preventive codes, switch issues, and wheel bearing problems.
• Work with equipment such as crown units, stock pickers, reach trucks, and unit pallet jacks (both electric and propane).
• Document issues and maintenance work using a tablet.
• Communicate effectively with clients and operators regarding maintenance needs and equipment status.
• Ensure equipment is safely removed from service when necessary for maintenance.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of MHE mechanic experience.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting and mechanical repair of forklifts, reach trucks, stock pickers, and other MHE.
• Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to work efficiently with tablets for documenting maintenance activities.
• Strong communication skills to update clients and operators about equipment status.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with fleet maintenance.
• Familiarity with service processes and standards.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate controlled plant.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, Florida.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
