Job Description:

GDIT is hiring a Front End Developer that will support an internet-based social media program in Tampa, FL. You will help build and maintain tools that support the dissemination and tracking of digital content-enabling the creation, translation, approval, and publication of content across multiple platforms. Additionally, you'll help build web-based tools that manage metrics, audience engagement, and feedback, contributing to real-world impact.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop intuitive and responsive front-end interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, or similar)
  • Collaborate with a team of developers, data engineers, and data scientists to build applications that support internet and social media operations
  • Contribute to front-end architecture and UX improvements, while also assisting with backend development (Ruby on Rails or Django/Python) as needed
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure the front-end aligns with user needs and product requirements
  • Participate in Agile development workflows using tools like Confluence, Jira, and Slack
  • Support development, testing, and deployment of applications in AWS cloud infrastructure
  • (Optional but valued) Apply HTML5 game development experience to create interactive UI features or gamified interfaces when applicable

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Required/Desired Education/Work experience:
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree, 1 to 3 + years of related work experience
  • Strong front-end development skills (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
  • Experience with React, Vue, or similar frameworks
  • Familiarity with backend technologies such as Django/Python or Ruby on Rails
  • Comfort working with Linux environments and AWS services
  • Experience with REST APIs, database interactions (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Redshift)
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevSecOps workflows
  • Bonus: Experience in HTML5 game development (e.g., Phaser, PixiJS) or building interactive web components
  • Work location: must be able to work on the client site in Tampa FL, MacDill AFB (Not a remote role)
  • Must have a current/active DOD Secret clearance! (If you do not have a current DOD Secret clearance, please do not apply since we cannot sponsor non cleared candidates for this role)

The likely salary range for this position is $83,429 - $109,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
