Compensation: $72,000 - $85,000 Depending on experience

BBSI has partnered with a premier Car Hauling organization based in Orange County. We are seeking an experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team to maintain our fleet of trucks and trailers.

JOB OVERVIEW:
This position requires expertise in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on both trucks and trailers, ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the fleet.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing Peterbilt 389 and Western Star 4900 trucks, as well as the Detroit DD13, Cummins IS, and PACCAR MX-13 engines. Also have hands-on experience with Cottrell trailers used for car hauling.

Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on Detroit, Cummins, and PACCAR engines. Conduct routine preventive maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and cooling system checks.
• Diagnose and repair manual/automatic transmissions, clutch systems, and driveline components.
• Troubleshoot ECUs, sensors, and wiring using diagnostic tools (e.g., Detroit Diagnostic Link, Cummins Insite, PACCAR ESA).
• Maintain air suspension systems and perform full-service brake repairs, including ABS/EBS diagnostics.
• Service Cottrell car hauler trailers, including hydraulic systems, ramps, lifts, and winches.
• Inspect tires, exhaust, and fuel systems. Perform repairs on DPF and SCR components to ensure emissions compliance.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience with Peterbilt, Western Star, and Cottrell trailers.
• Skilled with diesel engines, air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Proficient in using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Strong problem-solving and safety-focused mindset.
• Able to lift up to 75 lbs; comfortable in physically demanding environments.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASE, CDL, and OEM-specific certifications for Detroit, Cummins, or PACCAR engines.
