HR Manager | Hudsonville, MI

Salary Range: $86,000 - $131,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for production, technical, and administrative staff.
• Manage employee relations, including grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive work culture.
• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures compliant with labor laws and industry regulations.
• Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management programs tailored to manufacturing roles.
• Coordinate and deliver training programs, including safety, skills development, and compliance for all employees.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations and workers' compensation.
• Partner with operations management to develop workforce planning strategies and address staffing needs.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist, specifically within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• In-depth knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance regulations relevant to manufacturing operations (e.g., OSHA, FLSA, FMLA).
• Strong expertise in employee relations, conflict resolution, and fostering a positive work culture among diverse production teams.
• Demonstrated ability to manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and retention strategies for both skilled and unskilled manufacturing roles.
• Knowledge of safety programs, workers' compensation, and the ability to collaborate with operations on health and safety initiatives.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience working in a unionized manufacturing environment.
• Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficiency in Spanish or other languages common in manufacturing workforces.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety best practices.
