HR Manager | Jenison, MI

Salary Range: $83,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and retention strategies for production, skilled trades, and technical roles.
• Manage employee relations, grievance resolution, and disciplinary actions in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Develop and implement HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws, safety regulations (e.g., OSHA), and company standards.
• Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, reviews, and development plans for the manufacturing workforce.
• Coordinate and facilitate training programs focused on safety, compliance, and skills development for plant personnel.
• Administer compensation, benefits, and workers' compensation programs specific to the manufacturing sector.
• Drive initiatives for employee engagement, communication, and fostering a positive and productive plant culture.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Demonstrated experience with labor relations, collective bargaining, and grievance resolution, particularly in unionized settings.
• In-depth knowledge of employment law (e.g., FLSA, ADA, FMLA) and OSHA regulations, including experience with workers' compensation management.
• Expertise in full-cycle talent management, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and retention strategies for a manufacturing workforce.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of a manufacturing organization.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience managing HR in a unionized manufacturing environment, including collective bargaining.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and experience contributing to workplace safety programs.
• Experience with workforce planning and scheduling optimization for multi-shift production environments.
