Laundry Attendant Job Description
Position Overview:
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and welcoming store environment, and ensuring all laundry services are processed accurately and efficiently. This position plays a key role in delivering a positive experience for both self-service and wash-and-fold customers.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
Greet customers warmly and assist with questions about machines, payment systems, or laundry services.
Provide friendly, professional assistance to ensure customers have a smooth laundry experience.
Promote wash-and-fold and pickup/delivery services when appropriate.
Order Processing
Receive, tag, and process wash-and-fold orders accurately.
Weigh and record laundry, check for special instructions, and ensure quality cleaning and folding standards.
Package completed orders neatly and prepare them for customer pickup or delivery.
Machine & Facility Assistance
Monitor washers and dryers to ensure proper operation and report any issues promptly.
Help customers load, unload, and operate machines as needed.
Maintain adequate supplies of soap, bags, and other materials.
Store Cleanliness & Upkeep
Clean and sanitize folding tables, machines, floors, and restrooms regularly.
Empty lint traps, trash bins, and maintain a neat and organized work area.
Follow daily and weekly cleaning checklists to uphold store presentation standards.
Team & Operations Support
Follow all company procedures for handling customer belongings and cash transactions.
Communicate with management regarding customer feedback, equipment issues, or inventory needs.
Support other team members and contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment.
Qualifications
Previous laundry, retail, or customer service experience preferred but not required.
Friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented.
Able to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Basic math and communication skills.
