Level II X-Ray Quality Technician – Graham, KY

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company (EBAD) is a leader in energetic and non-energetic system solutions offered to aerospace, satellite and defense customers for a wide variety of applications. EBAD seeks a Level II X-Ray Quality Technician. This role will supplement our existing radiography staff supporting day-to-day operations and is primarily 2nd shift and is located in Graham, KY. X-ray duties will focus on production parts. Quality Technician duties will support ongoing production activities when necessary.

Responsibilities Include:

• The candidate will be responsible for creating and review radiographic images of products and verify conformance to requirements in accordance with established technique sheets.

• Assist and maintain calibration status for the CR system in accordance with ASTM requirements and EBAD procedures.

• Complete accurate documentation to provide objective evidence of inspection.

• Review shop floor documentation for accuracy & legibility. This includes pre-production, in-process, and final inspection activities.

• Daily inspection of in-process materials and finished goods.

• Coordination of shelf-life controlled materials, calibrated inspection equipment, and lot acceptance sampling.

• Maintain shop floor presence to field & address quality-related questions and issues.

• Provide quality-related training to colleagues.

Requirements:

• Certified Level II RT (non-film preferred) with NAS 410 or ASTM experience.

• 2 years’ experience in Aerospace & Defense NDT and/or Quality role preferred.

• Must be able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Must be familiar with NAS 410 and ASTM specifications.

• Familiar with AS9100 / ISO9000 environment preferred.

• Attention to detail while working independently in a production environment is required.

• Accurate records of activities and creation of discrepancy reports required.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

• Ability to use and understand calibrated measurement tools.

• Must be able to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in English.

• Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management

• Ability to operate a CMM is desirable.

The successful candidate must have graduated from High School or equivalent G.E.D. and 2+ years of experience with production and basic inspection of mechanical and/or chemical components in an aerospace or defense related company. Candidates must be able to work independently and interface with individuals at multiple levels in the organization.

Formal radiography training to Level I or II is desired; however, EBAD may assist with, and provide allowance for completion of required radiography training if necessary for the right candidate. Must be able to travel for this training.
