Requires: 4+ years in analyst or accounting role with relevant experience in performance reporting, forecasting, business analysis. Advanced Excel skills. Hybrid in-person/remote; vaccination mandatory.

Our client is a well-known investment company comprising a privately owned group of affiliated companies engaged in investment management of client and proprietary assets.

This analyst position is designed to offer exposure to a broad range of business areas and will include understanding operational aspects of each cost center. Additionally, the analyst will have direct access to senior members of such departments for the purposes of gaining a working understanding of all areas of the respective business areas and providing meaningful reporting/analysis for a variety of objectives.

Responsibilities of the Financial Analyst:

  • Compilation and oversight of operating and capital budgets, including all related reporting, forecasting and planning exercises.
  • Participation in weekly forecasting and year-end calculations related to portfolio manager performance and compensation.
  • Work closely with Aviation department to provide business case analyses, back end operational and financial reporting, and tax-related calculations.
  • Work closely with Global Properties/Facilities department to provide financial/operational reporting with the goal of enhancing efficiencies and identifying cost savings across multiple global office locations.
  • Prepare ad hoc comparative business case analyses for purchase of various large assets and other real estate endeavors.
  • Assist in preparation of ad hoc process narratives, project proposals, business case studies, scenario comparisons and other management presentations.

Qualifications

Qualifications of the Financial Analyst:

  • Bachelor’s degree required (majors in Finance, Accounting or related field a plus)
  • 4+ years of experience in a financial analyst or accounting capacity, working with reporting, forecasting and planning data
  • Financial services/investment management industry experience highly preferred
  • Experience with all or some of the following is a plus: portfolio manager performance, compensation forecasting/calculations, comparative business case analyses, tax- related calculations, identifying efficiencies and cost savings, scenario comparisons
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, Advanced Excel is a must.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to develop and maintain working relationships with personnel throughout the firm.
  • Ability to quickly grasp detail and nuance of varied business areas.
  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks and shift priorities quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to consistently develop knowledge base by attending relevant industry conferences.
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed in an environment that emphasizes continuous innovation and finding efficient ways of achieving what is required.
