Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Repair Mechanic to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure optimal operation and minimal downtime.
JOB DUTIES
Use a variety of machine tools.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems (e.g., mechanical drive components, hydraulic and pneumatic systems).
Perform preventive maintenance and maintain workmanship standards in order to maintain efficiency or accuracy of machine tools.
Orders supplies as required.
Perform temporary repairs on equipment to prevent long-term downtime until permanent repairs can be completed.
Fabricate replacement parts or emergency sanitary welds as needed, replacing the part when the correct one arrives.
Machine shop, tool/dye experience a plus. Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling, cleaning or replacing consumable parts.
Replaces, adjusts and calibrates components to align: control, machine components, pressure, and other apparatus to required operating specifications.
Read and interpret electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic and machine schematic diagrams, drawings and specifications.
Work closely with outside vendor service technicians, engineers, electricians and millwrights in the repair and installation of new/existing equipment/systems or change-over of plant layout requiring movement of machines, control equipment, and other apparatus.
Responsible for following safety rules, producing quality workmanship and for good housekeeping in work area and areas where maintenance/repair and installations are performed.
MOS - Embrace and engage in the Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.
YOU MUST HAVE
2+ years in maintenance mechanics role, including repair or preventative maintenance in hydraulics, pneumatics, machine trades, fluid mechanics, pumps etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Light physical effort in performance of duties. Occasional heavy lifting of moving parts or equipment.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposed to varying degrees of dust, dirt, noise, etc.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team to complete assigned tasks
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Ability to perform all work safely and understanding lockout/tagout procedures
