We’re hiring on-demand general laborers to support a major food manufacturing facility in Elgin.
This is a true on-demand role—you choose the days and shifts you want to work. No long-term commitment. No pressure to take every shift.
When work is available, you’ll get invited to pick up a shift. If you’re dependable and ready to jump in, this can lead to more steady or long-term opportunities.
You’ll be part of a team that keeps production and packaging running smoothly. The work is fast-paced, hands-on, and perfect for someone who likes to stay busy and take pride in a job well done. Most shifts are 10 to 12 hours.
General Laborer Responsibilities:
Pack products as they come off the production line and check for quality issues
Make sure the packaging has the correct dates, weights, and quantities
Gather and organize materials like boxes, labels, lids, and pallets
Put together cardboard boxes and apply labels or tape
Clean machines and your work area at the end of each shift
Pay: $15-$17 per hour
Day - $15 per hour
Swing - $17 per hour
Schedules:
Day Shift: start times between 5:00 AM – 5:50 AM
Swing Shift: start times between 3:20 PM – 4:50 PM
General Laborer Requirements:
Ability to count accurately and follow basic instructions
Comfortable using your hands to handle and check products
Okay with doing the same tasks repeatedly and standing for most of the shift
Willing to work in a food manufacturing environment and follow cleanliness standards
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to work full 10–12 hour shifts as needed
