The Windward Institute is seeking five faculty at each screening date to administer and score twenty to twenty-five minute screenings for children in grades K-3, focused on word reading and language/comprehension skills. Training in the administering and scoring assessments will be provided.

Outreach faculty screeners will be on site at the library location during the assigned hours. As part of this program, faculty must attend two training meetings (we will notify your division head concerning any coverage needs). In addition, asynchronous training must be completed prior to the second training day.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer 25-minute screening measures using the CUBED-8 reading and language measures and/or DIBELS 8 to children in grades K-3
  • Using WI provided templates, score and produce condensed summary report to share with family liaisons and families
  • Support check in process

Qualifications

  • Current lead teacher or teacher in residence at any Windward campus

Compensation:

$500

Faculty-Family Liaisons

The Windward Institute is seeking two faculty and staff at each site to communicate assessment results with families and engage in a short conversation about implications for further support and education.

Family-faculty liaisons will be on site at the library location during the assigned hours. As part of this program, faculty must attend two training meetings (we will notify your division head concerning any coverage needs). In addition, asynchronous training must be completed prior to the second training day.

Responsibilities:

  • Review each child’s assessment results and summarize student areas of needs; training in language provided by The WI
  • Share recommendations for next steps; recommendations and free resource packet provided by The WI
  • Support check out process

Qualifications:

  • Lead language arts teachers, language arts coordinators, admissions and special services staff, and others proficient in the language of foundational word reading, oral reading fluency, oral language, and comprehension skills

Compensation:

$750

Spanish-English Translator

The Windward Institute is seeking faculty and staff to provide English-Spanish translating services to families of students who speak or prefer to communicate in Spanish. Translation services may include, but are not limited to, supporting the check-in process, translating assessment results and recommendations, and providing any additional assistance as needed throughout the day.

Spanish-English translators will be on site at the library location during the assigned hours. As part of this program, faculty must attend two training meetings (we will notify your division head concerning any coverage needs). In addition, asynchronous training must be completed prior to the second training day.

Qualifications

  • Faculty or staff member at The Windward School
  • Oral and written proficiency in Spanish
