Job Title: Patient Access Representative


Location: West Hollywood, CA (90048) (training will be onsite for at minimum the first 4-6 weeks, then can work remotely)
Shift: Day - 5x8-Hour (09:00 AM - 05:30 PM)
Duration: 13 Weeks (Temporary Assignment)

Job Overview:


The Patient Access Representative supports patient scheduling, referral coordination, and financial clearance in a fast-paced outpatient environment. This is a temporary assignment at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, starting onsite in West Hollywood, CA, with the option to transition to remote work after 4-6 weeks of onsite training. The role involves handling inbound calls, verifying insurance eligibility, coordinating referrals, and performing general front-end patient access duties. No weekends, holidays, or on-call work is required.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in call centers or scheduling
• Typing speed of 40 WPM
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality

Preferred:

• 2+ years in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or related administrative roles (e.g., physician offices, insurance companies)
• Experience with insurance plans, referral and authorization processes
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems and scheduling software
• Call center and high-volume scheduling experience

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage inbound calls for appointment scheduling and patient inquiries
• Process and submit referrals and authorizations accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify and update patient demographics, financial details, and insurance eligibility
• Assign or verify medical record numbers (MRNs) in accordance with policy
• Determine and explain financial obligations and collect payments when needed
• Clearly explain registration and consent documents and obtain necessary signatures
• Collaborate with front office, clinical teams, and insurance providers to ensure care coordination
• Monitor and resolve work queues and data accuracy issues daily
• Adhere to state, federal, and facility-specific patient access policies and regulations
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
