Job Description

A patient escort guides patients to and from appointments within the clinic. Escorts ensure patients arrive at the correct locations for tests and procedures, assist with discharges, confirm patient information, sanitize equipment and respond quickly while demonstrating caring values. Training covers infectioncontrol practices and operation of wheelchairs and stretchers.

Responsibilities Include

• Escorting patients between waiting areas, operatories and other departments, ensuring they arrive on time and safely.
• Confirming patient identity and destination before transfers and communicating any special needs to clinical staff.
• Assisting patients during discharge, including helping them into vehicles and providing followup instructions.
• Sanitizing transport equipment and adhering to infectionprevention protocols.
• Using electronic systems or logs to record patient transport activity.
• Providing courteous customer service and supporting the team during busy periods.

Ideal Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED; prior experience in patient transport or hospitality is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate assistance to patients of varying mobility levels.
• Physical stamina to push wheelchairs or stretchers and stand/walk for long periods.
• Good communication and timemanagement skills and availability for Sunday, Monday-Thursday and Friday shifts as scheduled.
