About Opportunity

This plastic compounder of engineering-grade thermoplastics is seeking a qualified plant/manufacturing manager to be responsible for leading operations and this plastic compound facility located near Akron, OH

The Role You’ll Play

• Lead daily plant operations across extrusion, blending, and drying
• Reduce downtime, scrap, and inefficiencies while improving throughput
• Mentor and manage a frontline production team; build accountability and structure
• Partner cross-functionally with engineering, customer service, and scheduling
• Ensure quality, safety, and process compliance under ISO 9001:2015
• Actively shape plant culture and performance standards

Hiring Criteria

• Expertise in plastics compounding or extrusion operations preferred
• 5–10+ years’ experience in plastics manufacturing or related
• Working knowledge of extrusion equipment and plastic compounding preferred
• BS in related field or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
• Proven leadership in hiring, coaching, and developing plant floor teams
• Familiar with ISO, lean practices, and improving production metrics like pounds/hour, downtime, and scrap
