Job description: EIT Inc. is seeking Private Pilots interested in participating in a 1-day paid FAA research study in a flight simulator focused on aviation safety. The study involves a single day of flying a flight simulator at the FAA’s research and development center in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This study supports aviation safety research for the Civil Aerospace Medical Institute (CAMI). The schedule is flexible within the span of the multi-month FAA study, with the pilot’s participation scheduled for one day, typically eight hours, at the FAA’s William J. Hughes Technical Center at Atlantic City International Airport. Participation is voluntary and can enhance a resume for aspiring professional pilots. Pilots will operate a flight simulator as research subjects and will not be flying actual aircraft for compensation or hire. Hold a current Class 3 FAA medical certificate or higher. Have performed at least 3 takeoffs and 3 landings in the previous 6 months, with proof of recent flights. Recent flight experience must be in an airplane, not in other aircraft types such as powered-lift, rotorcraft, gliders, UAS, etc. Must not hold a student pilot, sport pilot, recreational, commercial, flight instructor, airline transport, or remote pilot certificate. Endorsements such as instrument, multiengine, seaplane, tailwheel, high-performance, glider, or high-altitude are not eligible. Must be at least 18 years old; no maximum age limit.
