About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Salesforce Administrator to join our team in Chicago, IL . This role is critical in managing and optimizing Salesforce environments to help our nonprofit partners focus on their missions. You will serve as the primary Salesforce administrator for several clients, maintaining and enhancing their NPSP instances and supporting broader CRM needs. This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role requiring excellent communication, project management, and technical skills. You’ll work with multiple stakeholders simultaneously, providing timely and strategic Salesforce support across organizations with varying structures and priorities. Responsibilities include: Maintain and optimize Salesforce systems, including NPSP, for multiple nonprofit clients. Manage day-to-day configuration, support, and maintenance of Salesforce environments. Meet regularly with nonprofit partners to understand needs, prioritize tasks, and implement technical solutions. Ensure system performance, apply updates and new releases, and evaluate app integrations. Provide data management support including importing contacts, leads, deduplication, and validation. Build custom reports, dashboards, flows, and automation. Create and maintain roles, profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, and security settings. Document configurations, changes, and field history; prepare reports for internal and client teams. Train staff and partners on Salesforce use and support change management processes. Collaborate with fundraising teams on donor and grant tracking, reporting, and communications strategies. Use Excel extensively for data preparation, cleanup, analysis, and reporting prior to Salesforce import. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large datasets and can interpret complex systems, while thinking strategically when presented with new information. The candidate must be curious, entrepreneurial, self-accountable and solutions driven. This full-time position will be based in our Chicago office. Qualifications Required: At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Administrator, ideally within a nonprofit using NPSP. Strong knowledge of Salesforce configuration and administration best practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data manipulation. Experience with Salesforce process automation (Flows, Process Builder, etc.). Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Self-starter, curious, and solutions-oriented. Ability to set priorities, follow through, and work independently. Deep curiosity and understanding of current events, especially public policy and politics. Strong belief in free markets, individual liberty, and responsibility as key solutions to our communities’ and nation’s challenges. Commitment to delivering a positive client experience. Preferred: Salesforce Administrator Certification preferred upon hire, or required within 3 months of employment. Experience with Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud beyond NPSP. Familiarity with tools commonly used alongside Salesforce in the nonprofit space (e.g., Classy, Zapier, Apsona, Anedot). Experience in a client-facing, consulting, or multi-org support role.
