Job Title: Sanitation Worker - Day Shift
Job Description

Join our team as a Sanitation Worker on the day shift, working from 5 am to 1:30 pm. This is a contract-to-hire position lasting 31 working days, after which you will transition to a full-time employee. The role involves maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards within a manufacturing environment, predominantly Spanish-speaking. Candidates should ideally have 2+ years of experience in sanitation, preferably in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure detailed sanitation and upkeep of the facility, including cleaning and sanitizing all processing equipment to established standards.
• Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and recognized Food Safety Standards within the facility and surrounding area.
• Remove trash and product/soil from the plant, clean floors, walls, and ceilings.
• Follow directions from the Sanitation Supervisor and Leads.
• Adhere to sanitation equipment and tool guidelines.
• Wear specified company-provided protective gear at all times.

Essential Skills

• Experience in sanitation, production, manufacturing, janitorial, and cleaning.
• Knowledge of chemical usage, proportions, and regulations.
• Understanding of GMPs, Food Safety, and Sanitation Procedures.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Decision-making, problem-solving, and listening skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. (garbage removal) and/or up to 70 lbs. (if using power hoses).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to learn and adhere to safety procedures when working with moving machinery.
• Willingness to accept change and work in a team-based environment.
• Ability to handle difficult and/or sensitive situations.
• Exposure to chemical cleaning solutions and adherence to safety protocols.
• Perform repetitive tasks: standing during most of the shift, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, crouching, and climbing stairs and ladders.
• Must have reliable transportation to arrive at the work site.

Work in a bakery environment with varying temperatures, from refrigerated rooms to warm areas due to ovens. Must comply with Good Manufacturing Practices. The environment involves standing for extended periods, repetitive tasks, and exposure to cold and wet conditions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.75 - $18.75/hr.
