About the Role

CPI is seeking a Senior Advanced Apps Developer Specialist to support advanced enterprise application development within a highly secure, mission-driven environment. This role will serve as a ServiceNow Subject Matter Expert (SME) with a primary focus on SecOps Vulnerability Response, while also contributing across ITSM, ITOM, and enterprise automation initiatives.

You will work in a collaborative, global engineering environment leveraging cutting-edge technologies to support national security missions. This position offers the opportunity to lead technical solutions, drive automation, and influence platform-wide improvements across a complex enterprise ecosystem.

Position Overview

The ServiceNow Developer will act as the SME for Vulnerability Response (VR) and related SecOps modules. Responsibilities include designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining ServiceNow solutions that support enterprise vulnerability management, remediation workflows, and security tool integrations.

In addition, this role supports ServiceNow catalog development, workflow automation, system administration, release management, and governance compliance across the platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary SME for ServiceNow Vulnerability Response (SecOps).
  • Design, configure, enhance, and support Vulnerability Response applications.
  • Support ServiceNow VR upgrades and platform releases.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Tenable).
  • Develop automated vulnerability ingestion, prioritization, assignment, and remediation workflows.
  • Partner with Information Security teams to optimize vulnerability lifecycle processes.
  • Build and maintain platform components including: Flows & Subflows, Workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, UI Policies, Scheduled Jobs.
  • Design and support ServiceNow catalog items, request workflows, and fulfillment automation.
  • Contribute to platform-wide enhancements including CMDB, Incident, Problem, Change, and custom applications.
  • Troubleshoot defects, resolve issues, and support end users.
  • Perform functional and non-functional testing, including unit and integration testing.
  • Document requirements, solution designs, prototypes, and technical implementations.
  • Ensure application interoperability and compliance with information security standards.
  • Conduct design reviews, performance testing, and peer code reviews.
  • Lead projects, initiatives, and cross-functional technical efforts.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic input into development methodologies.
  • Support high-risk, high-visibility initiatives with tight schedules and complex deliverables.
  • Moderate business travel may be required.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent experience
    • Plus 8 years of related experience
    • OR Masters degree with 6 years of related experience
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong expertise with ServiceNow SecOps Vulnerability Response.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and platform automation tools.
  • Solid understanding of ITSM processes and ServiceNow data structures.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Advanced experience with data queries, integrations, reporting, and application administration.
  • Experience with IntegrationHub, MID Servers, and REST/SOAP integrations.
  • Experience integrating third-party vulnerability scanners and CMDB enrichment tools.
  • Strong background in Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Ability to independently lead complex technical initiatives and provide architectural guidance.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, analytical thinking, and cross-domain solution development skills.
