Job Description

We are an established and growing organization in the food distribution company, family owned, and are seeking an experienced Senior Manager of the Warehouse & Logistics Operations to lead and optimize daily operations. This role oversees a high-performance warehouse team while implementing systems to support growth, improve efficiency, and ensure compliance with food safety and workplace safety standards.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong experience in refrigerated warehouse environments and a proven track record in inventory control, logistics coordination, process optimization , and team development .

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring smooth workflows and high team productivity
• Lead recruiting, training, and performance management of warehouse personnel
• Establish and enforce safety procedures and compliance with regulatory requirements in a refrigerated environment
• Negotiate with vendors and logistics providers to optimize service levels and control costs
• Develop and monitor strategic warehouse plans to support current operations and future growth
• Implement and enforce systems that improve operational efficiency and warehouse workflows
• Maintain accurate inventory control through systems oversight, cycle counts, and physical audits
• Establish and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track operational effectiveness
• Plan facility layout, equipment utilization, and storage capacity aligned with organizational goals
• Ensure timely and accurate product receiving, organization, storage , and outbound coordination
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (QA, procurement, finance, etc.) to support business needs
• Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives across the distribution and logistics functions
• Perform other duties as required in a dynamic operational environment

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing refrigerated warehouse operations , preferably in food distribution (fresh and frozen products)
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in warehouse and logistics leadership
• Strong understanding of inventory systems, warehouse layout planning, and ERP platforms
• Excellent communication, team leadership, and coaching abilities
• Financial acumen, including budget management, reporting, and KPI development
• Experience working with third-party vendors, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement mindset
• Able to work in cold environments and perform physically active tasks when necessary

Education & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management , Business, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Proficient in ERP systems, warehouse reporting tools, and MS Office Suite
• Demonstrated success in building scalable operations and cross-functional team leadership
