Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Machine Operator

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SMT Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surface mount technology and be proficient in assembling and fabricating printed circuit boards (PCBs). This role is essential for ensuring the quality and efficiency of our production processes, contributing to the overall success of our manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Operate surface mount technology (SMT) equipment to assemble electronic components on PCBs.
• Perform machining tasks as needed to support assembly processes.
• Fabricate and assemble electronic components according to specifications and schematics.
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with IPC 610 standards.
• Utilize mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
• Execute electrical wiring tasks as required, ensuring proper connections and functionality.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Collaborate with team members to optimize production workflows and improve efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in surface mount technology and PCB assembly.
• Familiarity with IPC 610 standards for electronic assemblies is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read and interpret schematics.
• Experience with soldering techniques for electronic components is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Be able to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to cross train in other departments and work in those areas.

Education:

• 1 year experience in assembling printed circuit boards is a plus.
• High school diploma and/or GED.

Shift

• 5 days a week M-F- 8 hour shifts
• Shift - 10am to 6pm
• Possible Overtime
