Directs and leads participant(s) though explanation, demonstration, and guided practice; develops growth in swim team program at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.

Our Swim Team Coaches enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and will help our Swim Team members improve their swimming in one of our two lap pools. A typical day for an Swim Team Coach could include working with the Head Swim Team Coach in writing and leading Swim Team Group Workouts. They will assist the Head Swim team Coach in Registering new participants for the Team as well as help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Qualifications

• USA Swimming Coach Certification
• American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer

Responsibilities

• Adapt teaching approaches to ages, experiences, and abilities of participants
• Actively coach swimmers during practice; i.e. walk the length of the pool to observe stroke technique
• Use skill demonstrations and positive reinforcement while coaching
• Have swimmers return all equipment to its proper place after practice
• Provide for the health and safety of participants, by ensuring that all teaching and practice areas are free of hazards, and that materials and equipment is safe
• Communicate regularly with participants and their parents; they should be aware of progress of skills
• Provide a fun [and team] experience for swimmer and parents
• Report any unsafe conditions or equipment to Aquatics Director
• Report any equipment needs to Aquatics Director
