**Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN)**
**Shift:** Night (3x12-Hour Schedule: 19:00 - 07:30)
**Job Description:**
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) for a night shift position. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care in a fast-paced environment, where monitoring patient conditions and responding to emergencies is paramount. If you have a strong background in emergency nursing and possess the necessary certifications, we want to hear from you!
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assess and triage patients in emergency situations, providing immediate care as needed.
- Conduct rhythm interpretation and manage dysrhythmias, ensuring high accuracy in identification.
- Perform EKGs, obtaining 12-lead EKGs when required.
- Utilize EPIC charting to maintain precise documentation of patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services, pharmacy, and social services, to coordinate patient care effectively.
- Float to different units as required by management based on skillset.
**Qualifications:**
- Minimum of 5 years of current Emergency Department experience preferred.
- Active NY State License in hand.
- Certifications required: BLS, PALS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Experience with telemetry preferred, including the interpretation of dysrhythmias and management of critical rhythms.
- Must be able to pass a hospital-proctored EKG test with >80% accuracy in rhythm identification and 100% accuracy in identifying critical rhythms.
- Previous charge experience is preferred.
- Candidates should have a travel nursing background.
**Patient Care Details:**
- Daily census of approximately 120 patients.
- Ability to care for a diverse age group, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
**Requirements:**
- Must complete all required Healthstream modules by the specified deadlines.
- Candidates should be willing to adhere to age-specific competencies and ensure compliance with the hospital’s policies and procedures.
- Flu vaccine is a requirement by a specified date prior to the flu season.
**Additional Information:**
- Candidates located within a 50-mile radius will not be considered for this role.
- Must be willing to float to different units as needed.
- Must have completed a year without employment in any Albany Medical Center permanent staff role prior to applying.
