Summary
We are seeking a Landscape Technician to join our team at Bluebird Retirement Community for the summer. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces, ensuring that our residents enjoy a vibrant and welcoming environment. The perfect candidate will also have maintenance experience for simple maintenance tasks involving plumbing, electrical, drywall and painting.
Responsibilities
•\tPerform landscaping duties including planting, digging, and maintaining flower beds and gardens.
•\tUtilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete various landscaping tasks.
•\tConduct regular lawn care activities such as mowing, trimming, and fertilizing.
•\tEnsure proper tree care and maintenance of shrubs and plants throughout the community.
•\tAssist in groundskeeping activities to keep outdoor areas clean and safe for residents.
•\tCollaborate with team members to design and implement landscape projects that enhance the community's aesthetic appeal.
•\tPerform routine maintenance and repair throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, and offices.
•\tComplete simple plumbing repairs (e.g. repairing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing faucets.
•\tComplete simple electrical repairs (e.g. replaicing light fixtures, outlets, switches or ballasts).
•\tRepair drywall and prepare surfaces for painting, handle interior and exterior painting projects.
•\tAssist with general preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.
Requirements
•\tProven experience in landscaping or groundskeeping is preferred.
•\tStrong mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and tools.
•\tAbility to operate power tools safely and efficiently.
•\tFamiliarity with garden maintenance practices including planting, pruning, and irrigation.
•\tExcellent physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
