Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking an immediate start for a High School Chemistry Teacher at independent schools in the Fairfield County, Connecticut. Responsibilities of the Chemistry Teacher: Develop and deliver engaging and effective chemistry lessons for students at various levels (e.g., middle school, high school, or advanced courses). Use a variety of teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, including lectures, demonstrations, hands‑on activities, and experiments. Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, and assessments in alignment with the curriculum and educational standards. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and problem‑solving. Offer additional support during office hours, study sessions, or one‑on‑one mentoring for students who require extra help or challenge. Advise students on college and career pathways, particularly in science‑related fields. Qualifications of the Chemistry Teacher: A bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science Education, or a related field (master’s degree preferred for advanced courses or higher teaching roles). Prior experience teaching chemistry at the middle or high school level, particularly in a private or independent school setting, is preferred. Experience in designing and delivering hands‑on experiments and using laboratory equipment. Experience with advanced courses (e.g., AP Chemistry, IB Chemistry) may be a plus. In‑depth understanding of physics principles, theories, and concepts. Ability to explain complex topics clearly and in an engaging manner. Familiarity with educational technology tools, learning management systems, and digital resources to enhance teaching and learning. Ability to integrate technology effectively into chemistry instruction, such as through simulations, virtual labs, and multimedia presentations. Desired Qualifications: Passion for chemistry and education. Ability to work in a collaborative, dynamic, and innovative school environment. Willingness to contribute to school‑wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
