HR Manager | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for production, technical, and administrative roles within the manufacturing facility.
  • Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures on the plant floor.
  • Develop and implement training programs focused on safety, compliance, technical skills, and leadership for all plant personnel.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all federal, state, and local labor laws, including OSHA regulations and company safety policies specific to manufacturing.
  • Administer competitive compensation and benefits programs, including wage scales for production roles, to attract and retain skilled manufacturing employees.
  • Implement and manage performance appraisal systems, talent development, and succession planning for the manufacturing workforce.
  • Conduct workforce planning and analysis to anticipate staffing needs and skills gaps in production operations.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong expertise in talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation & benefits, and performance management.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including OSHA regulations relevant to manufacturing operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with plant leadership to support operational goals and drive HR initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills to manage a diverse workforce.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish).
  • Experience supporting Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Familiarity with HRIS integrated with time & attendance systems common in manufacturing.
  • Understanding of HR challenges unique to multi-shift operations.
  • OSHA 10/30 certification or strong background in manufacturing safety programs.
