The City of Saratoga Springs currently has an opening for a Public Improvements Inspector. This is a full-time, non-exempt, position with the Saratoga Springs Public Works Department of approximately 40 hours per week. This is position is under the specific supervision of the Lead Inspector and general supervision of the Assistant Public Works Director - Infrastructure.
Duties include inspecting City capital improvement projects along with infrastructure related projects and tasks. Persons hired will be required to maintain a communication link between the City Engineer, Assistant Public Works Director, contractors, and residents.
Job Responsibilities
* Note: This position requires a coverage schedule for Fridays. The successful applicant will be expected to participate in a Friday coverage schedule.

Salary Range:
The full salary range is as follows, please note hiring will normally occur at the Minimum of the range and will not exceed the Midpoint of the range:
Public Improvements Inspector I
Minimum - $26.91/hr., Midpoint - $32.29/hr., Maximum - $37.68/hr.
Public Improvements Inspector II
Minimum - $28.26/hr., Midpoint - $33.91/hr., Maximum - $39.56/hr.
Public Improvements Inspector III
Minimum - $31.49/hr., Midpoint - $37.79/hr., Maximum - $44.08/hr.

The City participates in the Utah Public Retirement System (pension). In addition, the City does not participate in Social Security so no Social Security taxes are deducted from your paycheck. In lieu of the City's Social Security contributions, the City contributes 6.2% of salary into a 401 (k) retirement plan.
Leave time benefits include 120 hours of paid time off (PTO) accrued annually, 40 hours of short -term medical accrued annually, and 11 holidays annually. The City also offers flexible workweek schedules (all schedules must be approved by the department head).
